Most of the big names in comedy who come through Houston tend to be of the male persuasion. But Chelsea Handler will buck that trend when she visits the Bayou Music Center on March 29 as part of a 30-city tour.

The tour, in support of her forthcoming book, Uganda Be Kidding Me, will start on March 4 in New York City. In addition to the Houston stop, Handler will visit Dallas on March 28 and Austin on March 30.

Handler was in Houston in 2011 on her "Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me Tour" and three comedians from her show were in town in 2012 for the "Comedians of Chelsea Lately Tour."

Handler has been one of the few female stand-ups to break through in the male-dominated profession. She's hosted her own talk show, Chelsea Lately, on the E! network since 2007. She also had a short-lived NBC series, Are You There, Chelsea?, that was based on another one of her books, Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea.

Handler's appeal is often her lack of inhibitions, whether it's laying bare her personal life on her talk show, tweeting out a revealing photo or going toe-to-toe with Conan O'Brien while stark naked.

Tickets for Handler's tour go on sale via her website starting Jan. 17, but American Express card holders can buy tickets early Jan. 9-13.

Oh, and if you do happen to go, make sure to follow her rules outlined in the above video. She's a stickler that way.
