Reset the "days since Texas dominates a national economic ranking"counter to zero.
A week after Area Development magazine named Texas the best state for doing business based on our hella awesome "industrial competitiveness," Site Selection magazine listed Texas among the top states in its annual business climate rankings.
Texas was knocked off its reign at the very top spot by North Carolina (which has been named No. 1 by Site Selection in 10 of the past 12 years) and also fell behind Ohio to take the No. 3 position. Texas was named the best state for business based on Site Selection's survey of executives, which accounted for half the weight of the ranking, and the state finished second in competitiveness and the number of qualified new projects created in 2011.
The only criteria in which Texas did not excel was the 'tax index ranking' for new firms, in which it ranked No. 42. (Does Rick Perry know about this?!?)
