UPDATE (Tuesday, 6:22 a.m.): METRORail service has been restored the entire length of the route, from the University of Houston Downtown to Fannin South.

-----------

UPDATE (Monday, 9:03 a.m.): The suspension of METRORail service is expected to continue into the Tuesday morning rush hour between the Texas Medical Center and Fannin South stations. Crews discovered wires inside an electric box sustained heat damage and will need to be replaced. Rail service will operate between the TMC and UH-Downtown stations. METRO has not announced a time when service will be fully restored.

----------

METRORail suspended service from the Memorial Hermann/Houston Zoo station to the Fannin South station Monday afternoon after a power line shorted inside an electric box at Braeswood and Greenbriar.  Rail passengers are being offered shuttle bus service between the stations while crews assess the damage.

While that was an unplanned METRO stoppage, all rail service will be suspended this weekend from Friday at 9 p.m. to Sunday at 11:59 p.m. due to a bridge construction project at Texas Children's Hospital.  The same construction will close METRORail the weekends of October 14-16 and October 21-23.  See flyer for details.

METRO continues to serve rail customers with shuttle buses between these locations.
