Discovery Green enjoyed a little star power Tuesday morning as ABC special correspondent Katie Couric and film crew arrived to film a promo for her upcoming talk show, Katie.
In advance of the Sept. 10 airing of the Disney-ABC Domestic Television program, Couric has been making the rounds of ABC affiliate stations across the country. On Monday, she was in Dallas and from H-Town, it's on to Los Angeles and San Francisco.
While in the downtown park, Couric, wearing a sleeveless dress in an electric blue ombre shade that showed off her well-toned arms, tossed a football with Channel 13 KTRK weatherman Travis Herzog and visited with news anchor Ilona Carson and her family.
Undoubtedly the happiest person in the park on this morning was Barry Mandel, Discovery Green president and park director, who escorted the crew around his home base and had a photo op with the news personality.
