Scenes from the Bayou City: The first day of spring is different in Houston

With the much-needed rain this morning, the first day of spring — March 20 in 2013 — began to rise and shine in Houston and across the state.

From our beloved azaleas at Bayou Bend to the ocean-blue skies in Galveston to the bounty of wildlife in the Texas Hill Country, spring is singing its song.

We've discovered these great photos people have posted. Send us more to celebrate the vernal equinox of 2013!
