Mayor Annise Parker just can't stop tweeting

One of the latest tweets from Houston's outspoken mayor came when she thanked a neighbor for spoiling an attempted theft of her daughter's unlocked car in their Montrose neighborhood a few days ago.

One might think the mayor, who is up for reelection this year, wouldn't draw attention to crime, but, when it comes to tweeting, Parker can't seem to help herself.

In 2011, she bragged about how she broke up a raucous house party in her neighborhood on the Fourth of July. As CultureMap reported at the time,

Following the incident Monday night, the spoilsport tweeted, 'I just personally (& rudely) shut down a loud neighborhood party- 11:45 pm! Were they surprised to see me. Security will not be happy. -a' "

And last year, Parker tweeted about her frustration over an eight-hour delay on a return trip to Houston from San Francisco.

Just landed from spring break trip with girls. 1.5 hours late leaving Houston and 8 hours late coming back from SF. Great merger, United!-a"

She recently also weighed in on the fight to ban assault weapons, taking on the National Rifle Association, although we suspect she suspects its diehard members aren't going to support her anyway.
