For the third time since its creation, a mural of President Barack Obama in Midtown has been vandalized.

Located at West Alabama and Travis across from the popular The Breakfast Klub, the mural was painted by Houston artist Reginald Adams during the 2008 election season.

In October 2012, masked vandals were caught on video throwing bright red paint across the painted face of the president; however, they were never caught. Adams replaced the mural with a new image featuring Obama in a vintage Uncle Sam-style pose.

The October attack was believed to be fueled by partisan politics.

The October attack was believed to be fueled by partisan politics, taking place just days before Breakfast Klub owner Marcus Davis — a staunch Obama supporter who commissioned the original piece — was set to host a presidential debate watch party at his restaurant.

This time, possibly Sunday night or early Monday morning, the vandals threw black and yellow paint on the image.

Anyone with any information about the crime can contact Crime Stoppers of Houston online or at 713-222-8477.
