ABC13 Investigates has uncovered thousands of new images showing the extent of flooding downtown.

The images, released by HoustonFirst under a public information request, show how powerful the rising water was: blowing through walls, ceilings, and even thick metal flood doors.

The photos and video tell the story of Harvey as crews began documenting small water leaks in buildings and parking garages in the Theater District late in the week Harvey moved in. Soon, water was rushing over, around and through flood walls and gates, rushing in and filling buildings and the downtown parking garages.
