Not your old man's Cadillac: Vibrating driver's seat warns of impending collisions

In this week's KHOU CultureMap Moment, editor-in-chief Clifford Pugh and automotive writer Nic Phillips got a peek at the new 2013 Cadillac ATS, which is aimed at young, hipper audience than the traditional Caddy customer.

Phillips even took it for a on-camera spin around Houston, where his driver's seat vibrated to warn him that another car was about to back into the ATS, enabling him to react quickly to avoid a collision.

Want to see it in person?

CultureMap and Cadillac are hosting a major party to kick off the Close Up Music Series Saturday night at the Asia Society Texas Center and the new Cadillac will be shown off at the event. A performance by the band Airborne Toxic Event and tunes from DJ Sun will highlight the evening.

The party is by-invitation only but check out the CultureMap Facebook page for the chance to attend.
