If you ask any young regular at the Children’s Museum of Houston about their favorite exhibit there, you’ll most like hear a friendly barrage of very enthusiastic responses: Kidtropolis! FlowWorks! PowerPlay! And more. Both kids and adults alike tend to love Houston's self-dubbed “Playground for Your Mind.”

And right now through Feb. 17 is every museum fan's opportunity to give a big shout out to the Children's Museum as the "Best Museum for Families" in USA Today’s and 10Best's combined Readers’ Choice Awards.

Children’s Museum of Houston is the only museum from Texas to be nominated, joining 19 other amazing kid-centric learning institutions.

Children’s Museum of Houston already holds the honor of being dubbed “America’s No. 1 Children’s Museum” by Parents magazine and was the winner of Nickelodeon Parents’ Picks Award for “Best Museum in Houston" in 2009 and 2010.

 Children’s Museum of Houston is the only museum from Texas to be nominated. 

Housed in a whimsical building designed by internationally acclaimed architect Robert Venturi, the Children’s Museum of Houston offers a multitude of exhibits bursting with action-packed fun that's geared toward engaging kids. A group of Houston parents who hoped to elevate early childhood development to a community wide priority founded the museum in 1980.

The museum now serves more than 850,000 people annually, focusing on bilingual (Spanish/English) learning programs for kids ages birth to 12 years and workshops in literacy, science, math, health, engineering, civic engagement, culture and social studies.
