What began as a simple espresso bar and café inside the lovely landscapes of the Thompson and Hanson nursery has grown into a cult Sunday brunch spot for the glamorous set in Houston. With French provençal touches, chic concrete floors and delicious gourmet breakfast tacos, fresh fruit smoothies, artisanal cheese plates, and gourmet sanwiches, it's hard to go wrong. The restaurant gets packed during peak hours, so wander around the shop and then stay for a late lunch of a buffalo burger or pancetta and goat cheese pizza. Or come at night, when it's not nearly as crowded. If it's cool, eat on the outdoor patio and you might get a view of the white peacock that occasionally struts around the lawn. Note to the wise, parking can be a challenge, but if you go into the nursery and buy some pots or poseys you can park right up at the front.
