Sprinkles Cupcakes
|
New York (and Carrie Bradshaw) will always have Magnolia Bakery, but Los Angeles-based Sprinkles has bragging rights as the first cupcake-only bakery in the country. They are hardly the only cupcakes in town, but on busy days at the bite-sized Highland Park shop the line can still get out the door. Known for their red velvet, we favor the slightly weirder flavors that rotate in and out throughout the week, like chai latte, lemon coconut and peanut butter chip. Those with dietary restrictions will appreciate the vegan and gluten-free red velvet cupcakes served every day. But don't forget to check for a charitable cupcake (Sprinkles often offers them in conjuction with a local or national cause).
Follow Sprinkes on Twitter — they'll tweet a code word to whisper for a free cupcake at different locations around the country.
