Relish
|
It's not exactly a one-stop shop, but Relish has quickly become a staple of the River Oaks neighborhood. Part small grocer and part counter restaurant, there are both foods made to order and eat along the Relish counter — masterful salads, sandwiches and soups, plus a tempting pastry bar. For dinner, owner Addie D'Agostino and chef Dustin Teague create weekly menus of entrees and sides that are available to order by the pound and ready to take home and re-heat There are a few dry goods and perishables which are split between the fresh and local — Way Back When Dairy, Grateful Bread, and cheese from the Houston Dairymaids, to name a few vendors — as well as bottled goods like sriracha and Pellegrino.
Relish also stocks A Fare Extraordinaire's addictive sweet potato chips and portioned patties of Longhorn meat (naturally leaner than both traditional beef and bison) from Teague's family ranch.
