Reckling Park
|
For the old-fashioned feeling of baseball up-close and outdoors and modest ticket prices that won’t max out your credit card, pack a cooler and enjoy a pre-game meal in one of the shady picnic areas, then watch the Rice University Owls play ball at their state-of-the-art stadium, Reckling Park. The backdrop is the impressive skyline of the Texas Medical Center and the action on the field is first-rate, as the Owls are consistently ranked at the top of college baseball, with a national championship in 2003 and College World Series appearances in 2002, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Afterwards, walk over to funky campus bar Valhalla, and grab a freakishly cheap beer.
