There's no logical reason why but Indian bar food just seems more sophisticated. Maybe it's the intricate spicing of the tandoori lamb kebabs or the Indian-style poutine, but somehow every pint seems like a special occasion when paired with chef/owner Shiva Patel's Indo-European menu. While the pints will please even the pickiest of craft beer snobs (there's always a good local rotation going on draught), the wine list isn't shabby and the house cocktails are inventive inside this British/Indian pub hybrid. With the dynamic husband and wife team of Richard Di Virgilio (of Oporto) and Patel running the ship, this little gastropub is worthy of royalty status, minus the pomp, circumstance and pretention. Ok, so there's a chance guests will need to valet, but it's a small price to pay for a visit to the Queen.
Happy hour is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday with lots of cheap food options that are filling and exceptionally good.
