Harolds in the Heights
|
Few retailers can claim almost 60 years dressing influential Houstonians, but Harold Wiesenthal and his son Michael have done just that. Harolds in the Heights (no apostrophe, thankyouverymuch) on 19th Street is a shopping staple for well-manicured men and women. Fans include Presidents George Bush (41) and George Bush (43), professional athletes and other notables. The store features a dedicated men's shoe department with offerings by Allen Edmonds, Michael Tobchi and Gravati and an extensive suiting department. Although Harolds wouldn't be considered cutting edge, the Wiesenthals stay current, stocking the store with Robert Graham sportswear shirts, Barefoot Dreams and Dian Malouf. And if you see the elder Mr. Wiesenthal, make sure to say hi. He's got a wealth of stories to share.
Head to the President's Room for made-to-measure suiting. Harolds can turn a custom suit around in a week.
