Like a Parisian bistro, Flora & Muse doesn't take pains to define itself. Is it a bistro serving everything from savory breakfast crepes to late night bites of tikki chicken skewers? Is it a bar? A coffee shop? A bakery? A flower and stationary shop? It's all of these things, at once. And while that can be a little overwhelming, it's also completely fabulous. It's a place where a couple on a date can sit at the massive Continental-style bar, sipping a cocktail named after one of the muses or a Hoegaarden on draft, while 10 feet away a group of women can hold a baby shower while eating panini and Turkish pies, and around the corner one can find students studying alone with a book, a coffee and maybe a croissant. And while for the uninitiated everything may seem a little twee, we like to think the baroque details — a painting stretched out like a mosaic between gilded frames, a settee along a wall, wood paneling — give Flora & Muse a sense of something eclectic and classic in a modern space like CityCentre.
