The Chocolate Bar-Rice Village

Chocolate, sweet chocolate, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways. There are many ways chocolate is treated at this Houston institution. But now the Chocolate Bar is also known for out-of-this-world homemade ice cream. The shop cranks out incredibly rich, luscious flavors chock-full of good ingredients. Our favorites include the Orange Sunrise, with thinly sliced, candied Valencia oranges and frilly chocolate shavings swirled in dark chocolate ice cream;. the Double-Shot Espresso, tinged with dark-roasted coffee beans; and Totally Nuts; featuring chocolate ice cream laced with walnuts, pistachios, pecans and macadamias. The Chocolate Bar has a second location in Rice Village, but for people watching, the original location on West Alabama is where all the action takes place.
The Chocolate Bar has sugar-free chocolate bars and candies for diabetics. They’re really very good, or good enough that you won’t miss the sugar-laden versions.
