Chocolat du Monde
|
To walk into Chocolat du Monde is to leave Houston behind and emerge in a secret European confiserie. Candy sits on antique-looking armoires, soft music plays in the background, and nooks and crannies abound with delicious surprises. Belgian chocolate is the specialty: Chocolat du Monde is the exclusive seller of posh Neuhaus and Leonidas chocolates in Houston, as well as carrying Dagoba, Scharffenberger, and Joseph Schmidt. David Heiland, the owner, can often be found behind the counter, and can recommend a flavor or ganache based on your preferred percentage of cacao. Consider yourself warned: Once you’ve tasted the real stuff here, Hershey’s will never be the same.
To taste the award-winning toffee is to be addicted forever.
