Children's Museum of Houston
|
The Children’s Museum exposes little ones to all sorts of educational adventures that make them feel like they’re guests at a friend’s birthday party rather than pupils in a classroom. This massive kid paradise is the number-one children’s museum in the country as well as the highest attended, with more than 750,000 people passing through its doors annually. The mission of “transforming communities through innovative child-centered learning” is the purpose of each of the playfully interactive exhibits. The Ecocenter explores the environment, the Inventor’s Workshop teaches about simple machines through experimentation, Kid TV has costumes and cameras for dressing up and producing television segments, and the Think Tank boggles kid’s brains with mind teasers. While the children are having fun, parents can attend lectures and workshops. And you’re already in the Museum District, so if you want to continue the family exploration, the Houston Zoo is just a few blocks away in Hermann Park.
