Hurricane Katrina temporarily sent some of New Orleans premier businesses to Houston. Franco Valobra for one decided to stay. His Highland Village shop is filled with one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, rings and other glittering jewels. If you don't see what you like, he'll make something up for you. His family has been in the jewelry business since 1905. It has a bit of that French Quarter feeling, with precious antiques scattered throughout the store. While maintaining their New Orleans store, the Valobras have gotten heavily involved in Houston's social/charity scene, hosting numerous benefit events at their store.
