Savvy developer Ed Wulfe understands that Houstonians want it all and we want it our way and we want it to be easy. He’s heeded the call and is currently developing BLVD Place, a 700,000-square-foot mixed-use complex in the Galleria area along Post Oak Boulevard between San Felipe and Ambassador Way. BLVD Place has slowed way down like every other master planned projects, due to financing troubles and the general economic malaise. Word is that Whole Foods is still coming in 2011 but in a somewhat reduced footprint. The building that’s completed at Post Oak and Ambassador now houses RDG + Bar Annie, Festari for Men, New Balance and Hermès. The rest of the 20-plus acre planned project—see the very ambitious renderings—is on hold until the financial markets improve.
