Gone are the pink walls and the animal prints, replaced by chic red and modern art. We think the new look at The Remington, located inside the St. Regis Hotel, is a winner, and pairs perfectly with the sophisticated but not overly complicated modern American menu. Favorites include a rich and well-seasoned lobster bisque, a portobello pizza in which the crust is actually a mushroom itself, a southwest Caesar salad with cilantro grilled shrimp, avocado, cheese, and chipotle pepper dressing, and a marinated duck quesadilla with peppers, onions, pepper jack, avocado créme fraiche and grilled pineapple salsa.
In October St. Regis expanded the lovely patio, situated facing Post Oak Park under a canopy of oak trees. Dubbed Veranda 1919, from Thursday through Saturday it boasts a tapas menu with elevated bites like five spice braised beef short ribs with steamed buns and jalapeño duck lollipops served with Texas citrus marmalade.
