In the growing neighborhood of Oak Forest sits a strip mall. Inside that strip mall beside a grocery store and hidden behind a bank is a little neighborhood restaurant that has a big following. With the odd setup of upscale food paired with a casual atmosphere and no servers (guests must order at the bar), it somehow works. The patio is destination-worthy and somehow manages to make those sitting in it forget that just outside its borders is a parking lot and grocery store.
Look past the unassuming locale and you'll experience some of the city's best beer, wine and gourmet food. Although chef Erin Smith made the food here famous, it remains consistently good even after her departure.
