Kanomwan's Thai food is fiercely authentic and attracts a loyal clientele. Unlike other restaurants that strip down Thai cuisine to suit American palates, Kanomwan stays true to authenticity. The Tom Ka Gai is legendary, and the green curry is one of the best in town. Coconut, lemon grass, basil and chiles are employed to magical effect at this eatery.
Most customers lovingly referred to Kanomwan patriarch Darawan Charoenrat as the Thai Nazi, a Seinfeldian reference to his gruff style of taking orders, until his passing in 2010.
