Even if it weren't for the succulent steaks and delicious sides that placed the original Brenner's Steakhouse on the map (that are carefully repeated here), this would be an appealing choice for lunch or dinner for the magnificent setting. Built in an old hunting lodge on the banks of Buffalo Bayou, the multi-storied structure seems removed from the bustling heart of Houston where it is located. When the Landry's Restaurants group took over the former Rainbow Lodge, they made a few subtle additions and updates that have contemporary diners returning again and again.
The restaurant's high-energy patio bar is hopping almost every night of the week. The fab Buffalo Bayou backdrop and the arbor of trees make for one of the city's loveliest outdoor settings. Happy hour is a must for the great bar menu that could suffice for dinner. Get there early to secure a seat or you could find yourself standing well into the dinner hour. The setting is so beautiful that many brides have chosen to have their weddings here.
