For more than a decade owners Terry Flores and Lily Hernandez have whipped up Tex-Mex specialites using only the freshest ingredients in a charming Montrose bungalow near the University of St. Thomas that is more like a home than a restaurant. The word "bocados" is derived from the Spanish language meaning tidbits, morsels, little bites, or mouthful and the menu is full of such specialities. The handmade guacamole and chunky salsa are among the best in town and other specialties include beef fajitas, pollo relleno, enchilladas del mar, cerviche and the famous refried beans.
Wednesday night is steak night with a disco beat. Flores prepares steaks to perfection on a outdoor grill while diners serve themselves salads and a baked potato with all the fixin's as a local DJ spins tunes.
