This stadium, which recently underwent a name change from Reliant Stadium to NRG Stadium, is the only air-conditioned arena with a natural grass playing field and retractable roof in the country. The main attractions are the Houston Texans football games and the annual Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, but it’s also the scene for countless other events like monster truck rallies and concerts. The 125,000-square-foot stadium can comfortably seat 71,500 people and has four massive concourse levels for special events.
When we go to events here, we park our cars downtown, hop the Metro to NRG Park and then ride the train back to enjoy a few hours of urban barhopping instead of dealing with the logjam.
