This laid-back hangout is just about whatever you want it to be: A coffeehouse, lounge or just a relaxing spot to enjoy a simple meal with friends. Inside there are cozy sofa groupings, a small bar and several tables that overlook the deck porch. This is the place to be for great local beer and prime people-watching. The food here has improved much in recent years, with some of the most creative hot dogs around-- like the tzatziki-laden Greek dog. During crawfish season there’s a big kettle of the critters boiling in the parking lot and Wednesdays are steak nights with a tasty grilled ribeye accompanied by a baked potato. The real draw of Onion Creek is its friendly, semi-hippie atmosphere where worries seem to evaporate.
Onion Creek has spun off similar haunts Dry Creek and Cedar Creek in the Heights.
