Rice University will be hosting scholars from around the country for the five-panel Transnational Asia Graduate Student conference. Paper topics include social movements in Korea, representations of war in the UK and Pakistan, and Japanese television production.
The schedule includes panels at 9:15 a.m., 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, with a keynote speech by renowned historian Dr. Nayan Shah of the University of California, San Diego at 1:30 p.m. Two more panels will follow at 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. All with an interest in issues related to contemporary or historical Asia (all sub-regions) are enthusiastically welcomed to join.
The event will take place at the Rice University Fondren Library, Kyle Morrow Room, Third Floor.
