Houston's terrifying haunt kicks off its 26th Halloween season with new features for fright fans. As the longest-running haunted attraction in Houston, ScreamWorld and its 120 actors scare more than 30,000 Houstonians annually at its 4.5-acre fright factory comprised of three haunted houses and an outdoor maze and graveyard.
ScreamWorld has added The Swamp, complete with the bayou's most feared monsters lurking under the water's surface: Attacking alligators and an animatronic anaconda snake head baring 16-inch fangs. Also on tap, The Braggart Family Freak Show, a family of circus-style entertainers, will wow crowds with sword swallowing, knife juggling, fire-breathing tricks, walking on nails and more during ScreamWorld's busiest nights — Fridays and Saturdays in October.
Hours for the temple of terror are Thursdays and Sundays, 7:30-10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays, 8 p.m.-midnight.
