Chicago classic rock band legend Styx has been generating music since 1972, when its first self-titled album was released. The band's second album, Styx II, included the power ballad "Lady" which earned radio time and peaked at No. 6 in the United States. The album was certified gold soon after. In 1977, Styx released its seventh album, The Grand Illusion, which proved to be a breakthrough moment for the band when the record reached triple platinum certification. The Grand Illusion included the popular hit "Come Sail Away."
Styx continued to record hits and in 1979 the band's Cornerstone album produced its only No. 1 hit, "Babe." By early 1980, the single had become an international hit and the band's first million-selling single. Over the years, Styx has released 15 studio albums, plus multiple compilations and live albums.
