Psophonia Dance Company presents Intrepid
The evening-length program features new creations by artistic director Sophia L. Torres with guest choreographers Estela Tejeda and Leslie Scates.
Tejeda's Edge of My Dreams, with music by Philip Hamilton, Henry Torgue, Serge Houppin and Jonny Greenwood, finds its inspiration in the world of dreams and the emphasis people place on such an imaginary world.
Clever and humorous, Leslie Scates' i came in like a... or rehearsing small demonstrates the choreographer's fluidness in a work that could be changing and evolving, offering a unique experience for the audience each night.
Torres' newest work, The Way Station, turns inward. A turntable of moments, emotions and relationships are capsulated in the dance that looks introspectively at carrying emotional weight, breaking free of it and passing it on.
Performing in Intrepid are Stephanie Beall, Vi Dieu, Danielle Koblinski, Kendall Kramer, Taylor McAnulty, Tory Pierce, Kristina Prats, Arielle Tesia Rojas and Haylee Voogt.
