Periwinkle Foundation's "Iron Sommelier Grand Tasting 2014"
Houston's top sommeliers will duke it out for the title of Iron Sommelier in a competition and fundraiser benefiting The Periwinkle Foundation. The evening will showcase the expertise of more than 13 sommeliers while guests mingle and taste hand-selected wines that showcase a wine theme selected by the sommelier.
Each competitor will be rated on wine choice, presentation, creativity and knowledge of their wine selections. On hand will be Kelly McCloud of Camerata at Paulie's; James Watkins of Cordúa Restaurants; Maeve Pesquera of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar; Kevin Kenyon of The Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa; Steven McDonald of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse; Christian Varas of River Oaks Country Club; Vanessa Treviño Boyd of 60 Degrees Mastercrafted; Adele Corrigan of 13 Celsius Wine Bar; and Travis Hinkle of Treadsack Restaurant Group.
A big board auction and art sale will round out the evening of wine, entertainment and food.
