Obsidian Theater presents Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Hedwig and the Angry Inch is the story of a fictional rock and roll band fronted by the transgender East German singer, Hedwig Robinson, who becomes an “internationally ignored song stylist” when Hanschel has a botched sex change operation. The show daringly breaks the fourth wall, as Hedwig directly tells the audience of her past tribulations and heartbreak in the form of monologues paired with rock songs. With a little help from her band and her back-up singer Yitzhak, Hedwig examines her quest for her other half, for love, and ultimately for her identity.
Blake Jackson, winner of Houston Press Theatre Award as Best Male Newcomer, reprises his award-winning role of Hedwig.
