Musiqa's first concert of the 2012-13 season features the world premiere of Deep Sky Objects by the internationally acclaimed American composer Sebastian Currier set to poetry by Sara Manguso, whose libretto imagines an intergalactic romance. Scored for soprano, piano quintet and electronics, the performances will feature soprano Karol Bennett.
The program also features a world premiere Houston Ballet II performance set to a Sebastian Currier work, choreographed by the ballet's Tina Bohnstedt, a piano quartet by Musiqa composer Pierre Jalbert and a set of violin-piano preludes by Lera Auerbach.
