Music Doing Good presents Ronny Cox
Ronny Cox began his Hollywood career with his first movie, Deliverance, in 1972, in which he appeared as ill-fated businessman Drew Ballinger and played in the infamous dueling banjos scene. Cox has played numerous Hollywood villains, including Dick Jones in Robocop (1987) and Cohaagen in Total Recall (1990). He has also appeared in numerous television series including Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stargate SG-1, Desperate Housewives, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Nashville.
With a career that spans more than 145 films and television shows, Cox has also recorded and released seven albums. Within the last decade, he has emerged as an important folk singer, something he’s been doing for more than four decades. In 2009, his album, Ronny Cox – Songs…with Repercussions, was the number one folk album in the country.
All proceeds from the event will provide funding for musical outreach for Houston’s at-risk children. Music Doing Good provides an after-school theater arts program, music scholarships, free instrument grants and piano accompaniment. In addition to the concert, there will be a silent auction.
