This three-part transit symposium helps citizens understand important issues that will be in the November transit referendum. The event will offer government officials, citizen leaders and local transit planners and engineers insights and details about the coming Metro Long Range Plan. Does light rail have a future in Houston? Are big changes coming to the bus network? The symposium includes presentations by Jarrett Walker, author and international transit consultant; George Greanias, CEO and president of Metro; Christof Spieler, Metro board member; Janis Scott, transit rider; and David Crossley, president of Houston Tomorrow.
At the "Workshop for Planners, Engineers and Metro Board Members," Walker will work with this specific group on transit issues.
Walker's Distinguished Speaker Event lecture will center around his new book, Human Transit: How Clearer Thinking about Public Transit Can Enrich Our Communities and Our Lives.
