Themed "It's Your Time," National Women's Health Week is May 13 to 19. Two experts will address women's health and its effect on the city, state and nation at the annual National Women's Health Week luncheon.
Frances Ashe-Goins, deputy director of the Office of Women's Health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, will make introductions. Elena Marks, health policy advisor to former Mayor Bill White and health policy scholar at Rice University's Baker Institute, will give the keynote address and discuss how the health of the city's women is important to the health of Houston as a whole. In addition to the keynote, this year's winner of the Kathryn S. Stream, Ph.D. Award for Excellence in Women's Health will be announced at the luncheon along with the other nominees.
