Chris Shepherd at RDG + Bar Annie
When Robert Del Grande and Chris Shepherd realized they'd never cooked together, both chefs immediately decided to remedy the situation. Del Grande, chef/owner of RDG + Bar Annie, was the only James Beard Foundation Award-winning chef in Houston until this year. And he just so happened to be cooking at the awards ceremony in New York in May when Shepherd became the second Best Chef: Southwest winner from Houston.
These two chefs will cook together for two special dinners.
The first will take place on July 16 at Underbelly, where Shepherd and his cooks will work with Del Grande to present their version of Del Grande's food.
The second dinner will be held at RDG on July 29, where Del Grande and his kitchen staff will focus on Southeast Asian cuisine and flavors typically found in the dishes at Underbelly.
The five-course dinners include pairings and gratuity. Menus will not be revealed prior to each dish arriving on the table at the dinners.
