The first annual Boogie Blues & Brews Festival rolls promises to become one of the best Blues Festivals in the Gulf Coast with three fun days of blues, rock, zydeco and rockabilly. The three-day celebration will showcase local, regional and national music acts along with three signature events: A Chili-Cook Off with taster kits available will be open to the public on Saturday afternoon, Sunday will open with a Gospel music extravaganza on the main stage, and also on Sunday, a sweet tea competition during which local restaurants will compete for bragging rights for best sweet tea.
A Children's Festival within the festival will feature a children's stage, teen cafe and a multitude of children activities to keep the excitement meter on high. On festival grounds will be a huge arts and crafts market with shopping and promotional opportunities, fun festival foods in the food court with specialty food kiosks throughout the park.
Ticket prices include entrance for two days and complimentary parking. Opening night, dubbed "Hometown Night" in honor of League City's 50th birthday, ticket prices will be $5 with a canned good donation to the Galveston County Food Bank. A portion of all ticket sales will go to three local charities.
