Blessing of the Animals at the University of St. Thomas

News_dogs_porch

Blessing the animals is a much loved tradition that coincides with the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis is said to have loved animals and wrote in his Canticle of the Creatures, "All praise to you, Oh Lord, for all these brother and sister creatures."

Bring your furry, feathered or scaly friend to the University of St. Thomas for fun and a blessing by Father Mike. If you cannot bring your pet, you may bring a photo or an item that belongs to your pet to be blessed. Looking for a pet? Houston Pets Alive will be onsite with some adoptable animals.

The event will be held in the Academic Mall.
