Following up on the success of the summer lecture series "New York, New York," Bayou Bend presents a series of talks on women's history in the United States. Topics include a survey of the women in Bayou Bend's portrait collection, a closer look at a rare 18th-century sampler and the artist and a study of Ima Hogg as an art collector.
RSVP encouraged to bayoubend@mfah.org or call 713-639-7750. Following each lecture, guests are invited to join a docent-led tour of the Bayou Bend Collection that focuses on objects made in New York City. The tours are offered on a space-available basis, with sign-ups at the lectures.
